Sunday night and Monday morning the moon will be in rare form. A full moon—the Cold Moon. A Super Moon—the moon is closer to Earth than usual. And a lunar eclipse—the Earth moves between the Moon and the Sun. Get your cameras out!
The Cherokee also call the full moon, Cold Moon, Unolvtani, ᎤᏃᎸᏔᏂ. Wonder why? They perform the Cold Moon Dance. They also celebrate the arrival of the Sun’s Daughter—the morning Star—AKA Venus.
