Born about 1160 AD, possibly Wentbridge West Yorkshire. Died 24 Dekembris 1247, November 8 modern calendar, in the infirmary at All Saint’s Church, Kirby Pontefract (ruins in photo). A prioress is said to have poisoned him—Little John took him to the infirmary. Legend has it that the dying Robin Hood shot an arrow out of the window; where it landed would be his burial place. Robin Hood’s Well. (the earliest stories/place names place him here, not Sherwood Forest)
