My late wife’s grandfather, Jacob Fisher Sr, was a farmer, county sheriff, county judge (executive), and bank president in Russell, Greenup County, Kentucky. People’s Bank is still going strong. Jacob lived in a small house and his wife, Birdie, sewed her own dresses from flour sacks. Can you imagine today’s bank presidents doing that? He lived near the Russell-Ironton Bridge. 1940s photo with my wife, Su
zanne, as a baby.
