On this day (September 22) is the Fall Equinox, when day and night are equal. In Britain this is celebrated as a harvest festival, an early Thanksgiving. Bonfires are called for. The Welsh call this day Mabon after Mabon, the child of light, the son of the Mother Goddess, Madron, often associated with Morgana.
