Camelot?
Some have suggested that Camelford on the River Camel was Camelot. Camel is Cornish for Crooked River. And Camelford is only 5 miles from Tintagel, King Arthur’s birthplace. Camelford may also be the site of the 537 AD Battle of Camlann (Cornish for twisted riverbanks) where King Arthur died.
