Tom Bawcock’s Eve is celebrated on December 23 in Mousehole, Cornwall. Legendary fisherman Tom Bawcock is said to have fished during a storm, saving the town from starvation. Today is a parade and celebration, including a local dish, stargazy pie, potatoes, eggs, and seafood in a pastry crust, with the sardine heads staring up. My 8th great grandmother, Marie Southwood Suddeth, was Cornish, she may have celebrated the festival.
