There was a real Philadelphia Experiment: To prove that lightning was electrical in nature, Benjamin Franklin assembled: kite, wire, silk string, hemp string, key, Leyden jar (crude battery). Static electricity from the clouds filled the Leyden jar. Luckily for him, he didn’t attract lightning, making this the real Philadelphia Experiment.
