C. T. Suddeth

My favorite blues performer/songwriter/12-string guitarist is Lead Belly (Huddie Ledbetter 1889-1949). In and out of prison all his life, his song “Goodnight, Irene” hit the top of the charts the year AFTER he died. Why am I thinking of him? One of his best-known songs is “Bourgeois Blues,” about Washington DC. (my favorite song is “Bring Me a Little Water, Sylvie”)
