1960, when I was a wee lad, I visited Military Inn, Dearborn Heights, Michigan, with my dad. The combined restaurant/gun museum was built of bricks from an 1830s Michigan fort. It burned down in 1968. I got to meet Roy Scates, a gunfighter pushing 100. While Roy was never famous, his buddy, Bill Tilghman, had a movie made about his life. Thrill for a little boy! (Bill Tilghman photo, cannot find Roy’s)
