Imbolc starts at sundown on February 1 and ends the following sundown. Imbolc is Gaelic for Ritual Cleansing and marks the half-way point between the winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. The day is dedicated to Brigid, Exalted One, goddess of poetry, healing, and smithing. Weather divination with serpents is customary (not groundhogs!).
