Yes, no, and maybe. Homer lived between 800 BC and 700 BC. Or not. At one time, an enormous body of works was attributed to him, but nowadays only the Iliad and the Odyssey are in contention. Some think he wrote them, others think he wrote down an oral tradition, some think a group wrote in the Homeric tradition. The blind Homer is likely myth. I don’t know what to think.
