Kelpies are Scottish shape-changers appearing as river horses or people. Some are mischievous, others demonic, both may be controlled by removing their silver bridle. Many like to sing, lure you into the water. I like to think of them as the offspring of Epona the goddess of horses who often appears as a mare. With Derby fast approaching, Epona and her kelpie brood may visit Kentucky!
