Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772 -1834), born in Devon, England was always a favorite of mine. Despite bipolar disease and numerous physical ailments, he produced masterpieces like Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khan.
And a good south wind sprung up behind;
The Albatross did follow,
And every day, for food or play,
Came to the mariner’s hollo!
