Loki is the Norse/Anglo-Saxon trickster God. Though he could be helpful, usually he was harmful. He was also a shape-changer appearing as an old lady, mare, salmon, or a fly. I associate the name Loki with liar, but experts suggest either light or fire or loops/knots.
