Bourbon balls are chocolate candy with a Kentucky bourbon center, topped with a pecan. Rebecca Ruth Candy of Frankfort invented them in 1938 (Evan Williams 100 proof). I have eaten more than my share. There are many places making bourbon balls, but 2 other candy makers have been in business many years: Muth Candies in Louisville (Very Old Barton 100-proof, pecan inside) and Ruth Hunt Candies of Mt. Sterling (Woodford Reserve) I have visited Muth Candies and eaten Blue Monday candy made by Ruth Hunt Candies.
