He changed his name to St. Patrick. He was born in Bannavem Taburnia, on the Roman road, Watling Street, about 385 AD, his father a Roman-British soldier, and died March 17, 461. He drove the followers of Corra, an Irish serpent/dragon goddess out of Ireland, hence the story of him driving the snakes out. [Photo of town’s location, excavated field]
