The Battle of Mount Badon took place about 500 AD, when Britons (Welsh, Cornish, Romano-British) led by King Arthur were victorious over the Saxons, allowing 40 years of peace. Though not everyone agrees, Cadbury Castle Hill Fort was fortified about that time and the probable location of the battle. It is in Somerset, near the Cam River, likely also the location of Camelot.
