Shinnecock Reservation, Shinnecock Indian Nation. Federal Reservation, Southampton, Suffolk County NY—about 70 miles east of NYC, near south shore/mid island. 1300 population, 800 acres. Name means Stony Shore People. Amazingly enough, their reservation is near the Hamptons, wealthy part of Long Island. The Shinnecock are doing great!
