Granddaddy of Book Burnings
In the 16th Century, the Spanish burned the libraries of the Maya of Mexico and Central America. This is likely the worst book burning in human history. About 4 Mayan codices survive (Dresden Codex replica photo). Did any libraries survive? This Temple in Palenque is famous for its inscriptions and likely housed a library. Book burners, I have no use for.
