Friday the 13th and Bad Luck
Odin, head God, and his wife Frigg (as in Friday) gave a dinner party for 12. Loki, the trickster God, was not invited. Furious, Loki sneaked in as the 13th guest. Loki tricked Hoder (Blind son of Odin and Frigg) into firing a mistle toe poisoned arrow that struck Balder (also son of Odin and Frigg, a sun God). Balder died, bringing darkness upon Earth. So, yes, 13 associated with Frigg’s Day is unlucky. [Pics: Hoder/Balder & Loki]
