Anyone from Kentucky, Tennessee, and southern Indiana is welcome to come.

Date: Monday, August 5th. Time: 6 to 8 pm. No RSVP required.
Place: Barnes & Noble, in the Café, 801 South Hurstbourne Parkway. This is about a mile north of I-64, on the right. This is NOT the B&N at the Summit Shopping Center.
At this month’s schmooze we will offer optional critiques. Writers can read from their manuscript for three minutes. We will give on the spot critiques. The first hour will be for socializing, the second hour for critiquing. Illustrators are always welcome.
You do not need to be a member of Midsouth SCBWI to attend.

I attended the 2012 Killer Nashville writing conference from August 23 to August 26. Editors, agents, law enforcement personnel, a hundred or so writers attended it. I had a great time, learned a lot, and met some talented people.

From Friday August 26 to Sunday August 28 I attended the Killer Nashville conference for mystery, thriller, and suspense writers. I had a good time and I got to meet editors, agents, and tons of writers. And I learned a lot.

Date: Monday, August 1 Time: 7 to 9 pm
***Place: Vint (formerly Java Brewing Company), 4901 Old Brownsboro Road (Hwy 22). (The Northfield store)
At this month’s schmooze we will have an Open Mic. Writer’s can read from their manuscript for three minutes. Listeners will have three minutes to write a critique for the author. More details on how the Open Mic works will be provided at the schmooze, but please bring something to write with and paper. The first hour will be for socializing, the second hour for Open Mic.
