Depression Era Fashion

Flour sack dresses were common in the 1930s. My late wife’s grandmother, Birdie Fisher sewed her own flour sack dresses. Except Birdie’s husband, Jacob Fisher was president of a bank and County Judge and Sheriff for Greenup County Kentucky. I can’t imagine modern bank president’s wives sewing their own dresses! [my wife with her grandparents]
