The good ole calorie days

In the early fifties, my parents operated a Southern Cream (Krispy Kreme franchise) doughnut shop on the town square in Charlestown Indiana. I was a doughnut-eating baby. Mary Katherine Suddeth is shown at the counter. Charles George Suddeth is frying doughnuts. A grease fire bankrupted them, though the building is still there.

Today is National Doughnut Day! When I was a baby (way back when), my parents owned a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shop on the town square of Charlestown, Indiana (they were called Southern Kreme Doughnuts back then). I had a very prestigious position. I was the chief doughnut taster and tester. Alas and alack, a fire forced them into bankruptcy.

Krispy Kreme has Louisville, Kentucky origins, but that is another story. Excuse me while I celebrate with more doughnuts. BURP!
