After 145 years, the Kavanaugh Center in Crestwood Kentucky is closing–another COVID-19 casualty. The Methodist Church leased it out for religious, youth and writing retreats. I was there once with SCBWI and countless times with Green River Writers. We miss it.

The Green River Writers Poetry Retreat will be November 20-23 at the Kavanaugh Center in Crestwood, Kentucky. On Saturday, November 22, George Eklund, Professor of English at Eastern Kentucky University, will present a two-hour poetry workshop. The cost is $25, no advance payment required. The $25 fee includes admission to critiques and exercises all day Friday and Saturday morning.

Green River Writers conducted their annual Poetry Retreat at the Kavanaugh Center, Crestwood, Kentucky from Thursday November 7 through Sunday, November 10. I had a great time. They critiqued picture books, YA poems, and adult poems for me. About 20 poets from 3 states helped each other.
