Barnard b (GJ 699 b) is a recently discovered Super-Earth planet orbiting Barnard’s Star, the 2nd nearest star to Earth. Barnard’s Star is a red dwarf, a cold star, so the surface of Barnard b is -238 F. Its year is 233 days, and it may harbor life under the ice.

The star is only 6 light years away, so pack your bags (bring some warm clothes). Send me some postcards. I am staying home, but I will write about it.
