Absentee-Shawnee tribal headquarters is in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with 4,500 members. Two bands formed reservation: Big Jim Band, Li-Si-Wi-Nwi, mostly Kispoko, in Little Axe near Norman. White Turkey Band, near Shawnee. Three Septs (divisions) Hathawekela, Kispokotha, and Pekuwe, are represented, including Tecumseh’s descendants.
